What happens next?
Once the DWP is satisfied that you have a legitimate claim they will arrange a local medical examination.
Depending on the result of this examination the DWP decision maker will tell you by letter if it is accepted that you are suffering from the condition you are claiming for.
It is essential that you send us a copy of the decision letter as there is a limited four week timescale for appealing. We will appeal all decisions to protect your right of appeal and on receipt of the medical evidence we will advise you of the prospects of your appeal being successful.
What if my claim is turned down?
If we consider your claim was turned down inappropriately, we will represent you at a tribunal hearing. Your case will be heard afresh at this hearing.
It is recognised by the Appeals Service that clients have more chance of success if they are represented at a tribunal hearing.
Please remember that we want your claim to run as smoothly as possible. Communication is the key to this. To assist, you will be provided with a direct dial number so you can speak directly to the Welfare Benefits Team.
Below you can read quotes from actual cases, they are real people who have claimed with our help. (permission has been granted by these people for their use)
